Abstract

Taking into account the increasing worldwide interest in establishing a clinic for lymphology, I would like to communicate our experiences, based on a twelve-year-activity in my 120-bed Clinic for Lymphology in Hinterzarten, Germany. The complex decongestive physiotherapy (CDP) with which we treat lymphedema, has been described earlier in this journal. This method is based on principles going back to the last century; I did not invent it, it has only been further developed and improved by us during the last years. CDP is a combination of a special masage type, the so-called manual lymphdrainage (ML), compressive bandages, and remedial exercises
